It's been awhile since posted but having a new pup has been great. So many adventures to tell today I'll tell you about Dobber and the park. It was beautiful this week as I asked Dobber " Wanna go for a ride boy?" his eyes lit up as he cocked his head to side tail wagging. He had been such a good patient boy. He hadn't got to see me in a few days . I could tell my good boy was happy to see me . I knew he would love the surprise of where he was going. I loaded pup up and off we went his curious eyes glistening as he checked out his surroundings. He watched cars pass us getting more excited to to ride . I had found this quaint baseball park near my parents with creeks and ball mounds etc. Dobbers tail went furiously wagging as we pulled up. Today was pups big adventure out. I leashed pup walking him to a spot where I had checked for glass etc. last thing I need is to take my pup to vet. Its important to always be aware of surrounds especially when you have such a brave and curious pup such as I . After allowing Dobber to get his surrounding I took of his leash there was plenty of room for him to be free. Pup loved this he began to ran sniff enjoy the park. I had missed seeing my pup his one ear hanging down one up, his sweet facial expressions as he found new and curious things. His coat growing in nicely. Hes becoming quite the beautiful pup. Always be aware of play area ya pup can easily get into something that he shouldn't as I found out when dobber saw a old ripped up piece of shirt. "no dobber." he looked up as if to say "we play?" I laughed "Yes boy , but that's not ours ." I pulled Dobbers favorite ring toy gave it a shake . He jumped from excitement I threw it and off he went. Meanwhile I picked up the old rag and discarded it. I still haven't got Dobber to get the idea has to return the toys . After a brief ring tug of war he let go and I threw again . Off he went, returning this time snorting hard and getting a snout full of basbeall field dirt and grass . He began to cough a little and sneeze . "I laughed so hard , he didnt think was to funny pouncing on me licking my face until I threw the rings again. What a amazing pup so full of life we threw for quite some time until The little pup starting getting tired. Play time can take alot out of you .He came up nuzzled my arm sniffed around a bit and lay down as I rubbed his belly. nothing like having ya pup curled beside you. I can tell this pup is gonna keep me on my toes. "well Dobber it is time go home . you ready for a ride boy?" Pups eyes sparked up in the excitment of a car ride .
I wonder what he thinks of sometimes with that look of happiness and and love . Such a good pup, another great day with my Dobber.

Gimme Gimme! (Dobber)
Home:
When we got back to the house, he immediately put my collar on me and I spent a few minuets admiring myself in the mirror. Ok, ok you’re right, the shiny had actually caught my eye, but that’s beside the point. It didn’t take much for me to get undistracted when I heard those rings being shaken around! “Who’s a good boy ,Dobber?” Oh you better believe I can be (when I want to be he he)! He threw those rings for the first time and my whole mindset changed, no longer did I feel like someone playing the role of a puppy, no longer did I feel like something was missing, I felt ALIVE! It was the most exhilarating and freeing feeling I have ever felt in my life! “Dobber! Bring them back boy!” Woof! NO ! Those rings are mine and I’m not bring those back very willingly . Off I went to my corner with my rings. so much fun to chew on , the rings the texture the feeling of endorphins rushing through my body. “Dobber! Where are you going? Oh no you don’t! Bring me those rings boy!” Again those are my rings and aren’t gonna be given up easily! He came over and grabbed them which of course means he wants to play! play, pup likes play . I’m ALL about play time! then the call from the other room "Come here boy....
Bath time:
So busy with my new toy unbeknown to me play time would change. What this pup didn’t know is that coming up was bath time, and getting the rings was just the precursor to getting me in the tub. Oh goodness this pup HATES the water (almost as much as the vet). But bath time was a success for me, I succeeded in getting him wet too! After bath time it was time for bed, and this pup got to curl up on the bed with him and the rings. What a lovely day .. one happy pup woof! Dobber
Go? Who said Go? (Dobber)
The pet store
“Dobber” I could feel my tail wag as he called my name. Dobber that's me !I'm Dobber . Woof “You wanna go to the store, boy?” Umm can you say HELL YES!! He took for a ride in the car, windows down the whole way! That’s always fun! What I didn’t know is we were going to the toy store, when we got there I was really excited and kinda nervous at the same time. So with quite a bit of apprehension we went into the toy store. They keep the toys in the middle of the store so I had to walk past the birds, and the evil cats (had to very strongly resist being a bad puppy and barking at the cats) to get to the toys. With him in tow we walked up and down the aisles of toys, finally we stopped and had to look at collars first. He picked out one that matches me beautifully. Its shiny and has black in it (did I mention its shiny??).
As soon as we picked out a collar we got back to the more important matter at hand: TOYS!!!!!
After trying out a few in the store we finally found these perfect chewy rings! Omg they are so much fun to chew, and chase, and tug of war with, and chase, and throw around, and did I mention chase? Any who, after we picked out the toy (I was only limited to 1 for now, apparently this pup gets to distracted… ooh squirrel!) we went back to the house for a little play time.
My name is Dobber (Dobber)
A view from the eyes of a human pup:
You know most people will read this and think,” What the hell is a human pup?” Or alternatively, “What kind of freak is a human that wants to be a pup?” Well I’m here to stand up for all human pups out there to say “We AREN’T freaks, we are just like you and need release from the stress of this very tiring world and have found a special way to do it.”
Now of all the things out there in this world I was sure I had heard of everything. Boy was I ever wrong! I have recently been enlightened to several things and puppy play was one of them. Not knowing much about the subject, I did like any good person would do and did my research on it. And lo and behold there really is not much out there about it so my handler and I decided to start this blog.
There once was a time (not that long ago mind you) when I felt as if there was a hole in my life that couldn’t be filled. No matter what I did with work, hobbies, or friends it didn’t do me any good. Through the grape vine I heard of pup play and did some research on it and decided I wanted to give it a shot.
Challenge #1 :find someone else who’s into it, has the same views as I, and wants the same things out of it. WOW! What a challenge that was! But after searching and searching I found my handler when I wasn’t even truly looking. I had this random message from a drag queen on FaceBook (gotta love social media, right??) asking if I had plans and inviting me out to her bingo night she hosts. So I figured I didn’t have anything to do and went out to hang out. During the course of the night, she made a joke referring to “putting a leash on me and making me her puppy.” Which struck me as really odd due to the fact that we had not discussed this previously, at all. So after bingo that night I stuck around after the show and we talked some at length and the inference made during the joke. Unbeknown to me, that particular drag queen would soon become my handler. We discussed it over the course of the next few days and decided to give it a shot playing.
challenge #2 A Name
The first thing that she did was give me a pup name, Dobber. So we took a trip to the local pet store and boy was I nervous and excited! But that story (and more) will come later.
Dobbers collar
The five words that made my heart skip "Will you be my handler?"?" Yes ! Upon reading up on how handle my pup (see pup 101) . there are sites references online, I
suggest goggling pup play to broaden your knowledge. As with anything its up to you and your pup to decide limits . I was extremely lucky to find a pup who has seem views as I . Its just my opinion but compromise will lead to limited play in what can be a beautiful situation. As with any new proud owner of a puppy it was time for Pet Smart . A experience to be discussed before going , especially if you live in the bible belt . That dog don't hunt especially in these parts. Time to find my Dobber's collar and toys . The collar should be something that expresses ya pups personality and character. Remember the collar needs be comfortable and safe your dealing with very soft tissue and spine on ya pup . A collar may be stylish but could do damage to your new found friend.
Dobber's collar :
The pup and I entered the store , you could see his tail wag though trying to contain himself. His beautiful doe like eyes sparkling curiously as he checked out his surroundings. Its important ya pup feel comfortable. but stand firm in guidance . Ya pup is new and needs direction. His eyes open in wonder and excitement as we passed the bird cage, the flutter peeked his interest . Trying hard to keep composer . We made our way to to the collar section. His excitement almost not able be contained. Rhinestone? pink? phhmm snorted pup. Leather? unfortunately rough on edges then finally our eyes caught a large choke chain with soft black nylon through the link . Easy on pups throat for later leash training.Careful when using choke collar on a pup when training . you like? i asked . His eyes lit up could tell this was Dobbers collar. Good pup. (dobbers tail wags.) "Time to get Dobber his toys." A huge pup grin comes across his face. Finding toys that are soft as to not hurt pups mouth in tug a war and fetch proved a little more challenging . To furry , to scary for pup, or to hard. Remember ya pups mouth and teeth are a lot weaker than his fellow canines. Settling for large soft rubber rings for tug and fetch. Pup tugging gently for good fit . "Good boy Dobber" and a soft stuffed bone (non squeak) . time go home boy...... stay tuned for Dobbers first play.

In Dobber's eyes a handler meets pup
I never imagined the joy found in the eyes of Dobber. First how we met . Was by rare chance on a local social media that the pup caught my eye. I dont know what but there was something special about him.I didn't know then but the pup I wanted was right before my eyes. After much shameful flirting I met this beautiful human pup. His big brown eyes sparkled as we talked about possibilities new to us both . Excitement built as we talked finding a common ground for pup and handler. Finding a common ground is highly recommended before taking on a pup . Now back to story. We spoke of our needs and wants finding common desire.i got my first glimpse of this pup when scratching his ear , a jolt of adrenaline rushing through us both as pup eyes lit up and his leg began to move. the happiness on his face was priceless. i knew then that i had to know more about pup play follow Dobber and i on this journey of discovery and adventure offering insight and experience. As two novices discover the love of handler and pup. the journey begins....
